Tickets must be processed correctly through the ticket gate. Failure to do so will result in you being denied access through the gate. The machine will inform you if anything is wrong with your ticket by closing the gate along with a warning sound. Please make sure to perform any necessary procedures (such as fare adjustment) prior to going through the ticket gate.
Tickets that are not processed correctly or need fare adjusting will not be accepted by the ticket gate. IC cards that are insufficient in funds or are damaged will not be usable with the Kyoto Municipal Subway, Kyoto City Bus, and other buses and railways as well.
If your ticket is denied by the machine, or if you are experiencing difficulties with the machine in general, please inform the station staff and they will assist you.
