Signs (such as the one on the left) are placed on the platforms and trains to identify the locations of emergency buttons for emergency situations. In case of emergency, we ask for your cooperation in order to ensure safety.

AWhen Somebody Falls onto the Tracks

- Immediately press the "Emergency Stop Button". Do not attempt to go on the tracks yourself.
"Emergency Stop Button" Locations:
- Karasuma Line
- A total of 3 "Emergency Stop Buttons" are located on each boarding platform.
- Tozai Line
- There are no "Emergency Stop Buttons" at the platform. Every station is equipped with platform screen doors to prevent people from falling onto the tracks.
- There is a safe zone on the tracks located under the boarding platform. Please do not attempt to assist a person who has fallen on the tracks by bringing him or her back onto the platform.
BWhen You Fall onto the Tracks
- Do not try to climb back onto the platform. There is a safe zone on the tracks located under the platform. Go to the safe zone and wait for a station staff member to assist you.
CWhen an Emergency Occurs on the Train
- Please press the “In-Car Emergency Reporting Device” button immediately.
- A buzzer will sound and you will be able to talk with the crew. Only the report function may be available on some trains of the Karasuma Line.
