Higher Brain Dysfunction Specialty Consultation Service Provided
On July 1st, 2015, a specialty consultation service was opened up for patients who suffer from higher brain dysfunction. "Higher brain dysfunction" is a disorder which results from damage to the brain such as in a brain injury or cerebrovascular damage due to a traffic accident. With that, memory disorders and attention deficits are caused that lead to the difficulty in performing daily activities. The disorder is also called an "invisible disorder," since it is difficult to identify from the patient's physical appearance, thus the patient and surrounding people have difficulty realizing such symptoms. For those (or families) who suffer from changes such as "memory disorders and attention deficits," "not being able to carry out things systematically," "becoming hyper-active," and so on, we first ask them to call our service. We will arrange a specialist's counselling and provide advice for those with special needs.
The consultation service is located within the Kyoto City Local Rehabilitation Enhancement Center located at the northwestern corner of the Shijo Onmae intersection in Nakagyo ward. Open hours will be from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. The service is not available on Sat., Sun. or national holidays. Consultation will be free.
